Federal Land Stewardship allows users to view data for the federal land management agency boundaries for public lands within the United States. Locating the federal lands of interest can be accomplished by selecting the "Surface Management Agency" layer in any of the map viewers. Data are provided in NAD83.

Find the federal surface management agency for a parcel of land by selecting the Surface Management Agency layer and then zoom into an area on the map. The map will display symbolized boundaries indicating the federal surface management agency responsible for the land. Use the Legend Tab for a guide to the colors on the maps. Click the Identify Tool, then click on the map to get information about the Agencies. In the Identify Window select the Surface Mgt. Agency tab for information about each of the agencies
Use the Federal Management agency boundaries as a "map service" within your GIS system. The map service includes the surface management agency layers. This map service allows users to view or "stream" live data, which can be used as a base map linked directly to a desktop for use in GIS applications.
