This tool allows the user to draw a rectangle on the map to select one or more townships. The selected townships are highlighted on the map and appear in the search results window. |
LSIS has two search tools which include Place Name and Township. Place Name allows users to search for a place and zoom the map to that specific location. While Township searches for parcels in a given township. Township search results give the LR2000 Report for a specific parcel and also allows the user to zoom the map to that parcel.
In addition, when the Layers button is selected, users can use the controls in the Layers window to manage the visibility of existing Reference Themes. More than one reference theme can be selected at a time by clicking in the box to the left of the name. A check mark indicates that the reference theme has been selected. Active themes are in black, inactive themes are in gray. As you zoom in more reference themes will become active. For example, after a user checks the "County Boundaries" checkbox the counties will automatically be displayed on the map.

A selection of Base Maps are available and can be viewed by selecting the radio button next to the base map. The Color Shaded Relief base map can be displayed with any of the other base. Only one other base map can be display at a time as indicated by the radio button. You can toggle the base maps on and off by selecting or unselecting any one of the maps. The map will refresh automatically. The Download Availability base maps will tell you where there is PLSS data available for downloading either as BLM data or alternate source data. The other maps are general reference base maps to help you locate your area of interest. This site only has data for areas where we show Data Download Availability (BLM, USFS or alternate source).
